POSITION TITLE President, U.S. Entity
POSITION SUMMARY
The President will lead the US entity of a Japanese global group, driving mid to long term growth, optimizing the business portfolio, ensuring performance discipline, strengthening the organization, and upholding governance and compliance. The role collaborates closely with HQ and global counterparts to deliver sustainable growth in the US market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Leadership (~30%)
Develop and execute long-term growth strategies and annual operating plans
Optimize resource allocation and build organizational capabilities
Establish trust with HQ stakeholders and major partners
Business Execution & Performance (~35%)
Set and monitor KPIs, identify issues, and lead corrective actions
Drive portfolio design and investment decisions
Redesign business models when necessary
Oversee governance of capital and operational partnerships
Organization Effectiveness (~20%)
Build a high-engagement culture and lead transformation initiatives
Establish operational standards and continuous improvement practices
Drive succession planning and leadership development
Governance & Compliance (~15%)
Ensure financial transparency and internal controls in alignment with HQ
Strengthen compliance with U.S. law and ethics requirements
Proactively manage legal risks
KEY COUNTERPARTS
Internal:
HQ functions such as Strategy, Finance, SCM, Quality, R&D, HR
Overseas factories and affiliate locations
External:
Financial institutions
Logistics, research, and marketing partners
Other key strategic partners
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher (MBA preferred)
English required; Japanese language ability preferred
Strong strategic vision and execution leadership
Solid commercial and financial acumen
Extensive experience in Marketing/Sales (preferably FMCG or consumer/food)
Proven leadership in multicultural environments
Track record of brand growth driven by consumer and competitive insights
Hands-on experience in U.S. brand growth strategy
Management experience within global companies
Achievements in brand revitalization and new product development
Prior top-management experience or 10+ years in senior leadership (required)
P&L ownership in international business (preferred)
Preferred Skills
Understanding of value chain and production management
Collaboration experience with technical, SCM, or quality functions and overseas factories
Familiarity with Japanese business culture
