POSITION SUMMARY
Our client (Major bank) is looking for a Credit Officer candidate in NYC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts financial and credit risk analysis for new and existing corporate transactions, aligned with U.S. regulatory standards.
- Prepares executive summaries of credit applications and presents findings to Credit Department management.
- Manages deal and credit approval workflows, ensuring policy compliance and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Tracks client financial performance and portfolio quality; reports key risk events (e.g., downgrades, defaults) promptly.
- Participates in borrower and sector reviews to help front office develop action plans for deteriorating credits.
- Collaborates with front office to assess credit risks, challenge assumptions, and support deal structuring.
- Handles other credit-related assignments and projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 3+ years in credit risk or related field (formal credit training preferred)
- Experience in managing individual accounts or deals
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, or related field
MBA, CFA, or similar credentials preferred - Strong grasp of corporate finance and credit principles (e.g., securitization, ABL, lease finance)
- Ability to handle high-volume transactions and prepare credit summaries under pressure
- High IT literacy and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Japanese fluency preferred but not required
Willingness to learn internal systems and adapt to new cultures
