POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, a Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive supplier, is seeking a skilled Die Engineer to join their U.S. operations. This role involves assembling and testing complex stamping dies (primarily from Japan), collaborating with Japanese engineers, and supporting production quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Japanese manufacturing standards and culture. This position is open to candidates applying from outside the U.S., with relocation support available.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up die trials for 45–1200 ton stamping and transfer presses.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot dies during production.

  • Coordinate die modifications with clients and Japanese counterparts.

  • Coach and support tool and die technicians.

  • Document and track die repairs and preventive maintenance.

  • .Interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Provide input on die design and manufacturing feasibility
     
REQUIREMENTS
*Note: The following are preferred qualifications, not strict requirements.
  • Experience with stamping dies and power presses (8+ years preferred).
  • Background in automotive manufacturing or die production.

  • Japanese language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) to communicate with clients and suppliers.

  • Understanding of Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS).

  • Familiarity with CAD, Microsoft Office, and technical documentation.

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
     

SALARY
USD 50,000 – 80,000 / yearly
