POSITION SUMMARY
A leading Japanese food trading corporation is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Purchasing Coordinator to join their dynamic team. This role involves managing all purchasing activities for both food and non-food items, ensuring efficient and effective procurement processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchasing Management: Manages purchasing of frozen, dry foods, and non-food items, including sourcing, price negotiations, transportation logistics, and product development.
Sales and Market Analysis: Analyzes and forecasts product sales volume and market demands, creating purchase orders based on sales volume, demands, and inventory levels.
Quality Assurance: Ensures product quality through sampling and customer feedback, working with suppliers for quality assurance, and evaluating received items against purchase order descriptions.
Inventory Management: Frequently reviews inventory for discrepancies, large volume outbound orders, slow-selling items, and expired items, collaborating with the warehouse department for resolutions.
Strategic Development: Develops and executes purchasing strategies to support the organization's business objectives, attends company events outside of normal working hours, and fulfills other duties as required, including responding to upper management requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in business preferred or equivalent experience
2+ years of Food purchasing experience or training preferred
Business level Japanese required
Demonstrates basic Microsoft Office proficiency
Knowledge of ERP systems
Knowledge of Japanese foods/non-foods and kitchen supplies preferred
Has strong communications and interpersonal skills
