POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, labor law compliance, performance and compensation management, and general HR operations. The position plays a key role in supporting organizational growth and employee engagement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment

  • Manage end-to-end hiring process including job posting, interviewing, and offer preparation

  • Develop recruitment strategies and revise job descriptions

  • Coordinate with staffing agencies and conduct screening interviews

  • Perform background checks

  • Support work visa and trainee visa applications when needed

 

Payroll

  • Prepare payroll data and coordinate with payroll service providers

  • Manage payroll deductions (health insurance, 401k, commuting benefits)

  • Submit payroll data to CPA for gross-up and transfer to ADP

  • Respond to unemployment claims

  • Process employee changes (new hires, promotions, terminations)

 

Benefits Administration

  • 401(k)

     

    ・Manage monthly contributions and ensure IRS compliance

     

    ・Conduct annual plan reviews

 

  • Health Insurance

     

    ・Maintain and update employee information with insurance providers

 

Labor Law Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws

  • Handle FMLA, PFL, ACA accommodations, and disability claims

  • Maintain employee handbook

  • Prepare internal reports and presentations as needed

 

Performance & Compensation

  • Organize and conduct annual performance and salary reviews

  • Contribute to HR system improvements to support strategic compensation and talent development

 

HR Operations

  • Conduct new hire orientations

  • Maintain employee records in HR systems

  • Provide employment verifications (via phone, email, fax, mail)

  • Support international transfers (visa, relocation, tax filing)

  • Conduct exit interviews and manage termination paperwork

  • Track and manage compliance training schedules

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required (HR-related degree preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HR

  • Strong interest in HR systems and processes

  • Passion for building and nurturing company culture

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English

WORK CONDITION Hybrid (50% remote / 50% in-office)

 

SALARY USD 65,000–90,000
