POSITION SUMMARY
A global Japanese-affiliated company is seeking for a Data Engineer to develop, maintain, and improve the data infrastructure that supports business operations and strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate enjoys building pipelines, managing modern data platforms, and working with stakeholders to turn data into practical insights.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using tools such as dbt.
Administer and optimize cloud‑based data warehouse environments (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud SQL, or similar).
Create dashboards and analytical reports utilizing BI tools such as Looker or Looker Studio.
Develop Python scripts for data ingestion, processing, automation, and analysis.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data‑driven solutions.
Collaborate with team members located both in the U.S. and internationally (including Japan).

QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of hands-on Python programming experience.
3+ years of SQL experience with data modeling or data warehouse development.
Solid understanding of relational and non‑relational database systems.
Familiarity with Git and cloud‑based collaboration tools.
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.

Experience working with major cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS).
Exposure to dbt, Dataform, or comparable transformation tools.
Interest in data visualization and BI reporting.
Experience in data analytics or machine-learning related projects.
Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools and workflows (e.g., GCP GenAI tools, Gemini).
Japanese language skills (preferred but not required).

SALARY
$75,000- $105,000/year plus bonus
