Finance & Accounting Analyst (Onsite in Cypress, CA)

 

A global beauty product manufacturer is seeking a Finance and Accounting Analyst. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis while ensuring the integrity of accounting processes. This role combines strong accounting knowledge with advanced data analytical skills, with a primary emphasis on financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement. The position also provides oversight of accounts payable operations and supervises the Accounts Payable Specialist, who manages the daily AP function. In addition, the role supports month-end close activities and contributes to the development of management reports to support informed business decision-making.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Reporting

  • Provide oversight of the accounts payable function, supervising and guiding the Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with policies.
  • Support month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for executive and departmental use.

 

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis of actuals vs. budget/forecast.
  • Monitor expenses and cash flow; identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with department managers in developing budgets, forecasts, and projections.


Data Analytics & Process Improvement

  • Utilize advanced Excel functions and BI tools to automate reporting processes and improve accuracy.
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting and reporting workflows, recommending and implementing process improvements.
  • Partner with operations and other departments to streamline workflows and strengthen internal controls.

     

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience in supervising staff and providing oversight of accounts payable or other accounting functions.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Business Central, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
