COMPANY OVERVIEW
The role of a Business Systems Analyst is to plan, design, develop, and implement efficient information systems and operational processes that support core organizational functions. This individual applies established communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve system issues, maximizing the benefits of IT system investments. This involves conducting stakeholder interviews, gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the necessary technology solutions, communicating these requirements to IT system vendors, and ensuring the delivered solutions align with business needs.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning
Assist in planning, designing, and developing new applications as well as enhancing existing ones.
Collaborate with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
Determine and define the scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis, outlining project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house and outsourced computing systems used within the organization.
Work with stakeholders and the project team to prioritize gathered requirements.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, developing strategies for improvement or further leveraging of these systems.

Acquisition & Deployment
Assist in deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts.

Operational Management
Create system design proposals.
Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to assist management in making implementation decisions.
Develop systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide guidance to external IT system vendors, consultants, and programmers.
Coordinate and conduct comprehensive tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
Develop Standard Operating Procedure documents for existing, modified, and new systems.
Offer daily business-system operation support.
Provide user helpdesk support for ERP systems and other integrated systems.
Validate daily backup results for ERP systems and other file servers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and 5 - 7 years of related work experience.
Certifications in SAP B1, SAP S/4, SAP ECC, PMP, PMI-PBA, or a similar certification are preferred.

Knowledge & Experience
Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Excellent documentation skills for business/technical requirements, As-Is/To-Be business/system process flow charts, detailed test cases, and user manuals.
Extensive experience in executing detailed user acceptance tests and communicating the test results to developers and end-users.
Working technical knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic programming languages, and Excel Macro programming.
Basic knowledge of network and Windows Server systems.
Extensive experience with core software applications, including ERP systems, EDI systems, Expense Systems, Process Automation Software, and Workflow Systems.
Proven experience in operating and analyzing SQL databases and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and data backup maintenance.
Practical knowledge and experience in managing data interfaces (SFTP, API, and other forms of data interfaces) for use in ERP peripheral systems and third-party system and report software.
Demonstrated project management skills. Extensive experience with ERP system implementation/upgrades is a plus.
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
English and Japanese communication skills required for interacting with local staff and external contacts.

WORK CONDITIONS
40-hour work week, either on-site or remote as requested by management.
Occasionally, work in the evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
Prolonged periods of sitting.
Skillful use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
Periodic business trips to the company headquarters.
