POSITION TITLE Business Development Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for driving revenue growth by building and maintaining relationships with both new and existing customers, while supporting project estimation, planning, and execution. The role requires coordinating with stakeholders in both English and Japanese to ensure projects are completed on time, safely, and within budget. The position also collaborates with a wide range of parties, including Japanese-speaking clients and suppliers, to effectively propose and advance projects with high quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers
Review drawings and specifications; estimate project costs and man‑hours
Participate in preconstruction planning related to budgets and schedules
Coordinate project start‑up activities and ensure compliance with specifications
Conduct site visits and monitor work quality
Communicate with subcontractors and stakeholders regarding schedules, safety, quality, and procedures
Attend project progress meetings and understand daily/weekly work plans
Support project close‑out, including financial settlement and turnover to the customer
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) or Construction Management
Minimum 5 years of industrial or construction experience
Working knowledge of construction contract language
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills
Ability to estimate labor, materials, and equipment needs
Capability to solve problems and make decisions under tight deadlines
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
Ability to prepare and review daily logs and reports
Fluency in both English and Japanese
LOCATION Indianapolis, Indiana (Onsite Work)
SALARY USD90,000-100,000 + benefits

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required when on job sites
May require extended hours, weekends, and possible holidays depending on project demands
Up to 50% travel may be required
