POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager oversees accounting and tax tasks, including daily operations, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, monthly/year-end closing, reporting, and audit preparation. Responsibilities extend to various in the organization invests. The role involves communication with external parties such as investment partners, auditors, tax advisors, and the parent company in Japan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Full-Cycle Accounting
- Verify and post payment and cash transfer requests.
- Prepare and approve payments by wire transfer, ACH, checks, or intra-bank transfers.
- Coordinate bank account-related matters.
- Process and post cash receipts and journal entries.
- Perform bank reconciliation and reconcile financial transactions.
- Verify and handle employee expense reimbursements and ACH payments.
- Maintain accounting ledgers and historical records.
Tax and Reports
- Manage tax information from JVs, such as Form K-1.
- Prepare tax reports (e.g., Form 1099, 1042, property tax, business tax) with vendors.
- Coordinate corporate tax tasks with external preparers.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Monitor tax filing status and resolve tax issues.
- Assist with corporate tax planning for new projects.
- Support acquisition activities by simulating corporate tax impacts.
Finance
- Monitor and project daily cash flow and coordinate with headquarters.
- Assist the Vice President of Finance with projects and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university.
- At least seven years in accounting/finance, preferably in a public company or real estate industry.
- Minimum of three years at the corporate/HQ level in accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting software and system implementation is a plus.
- Knowledge of internal control practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of U.S. and international taxation.
- Strong leadership skills and results-driven.
- Proficiency in Japanese (Read/Write/Speak) is required.
- CPA certification is beneficial but not required.
SALARY/BENEFITS
USD 115,000 ~125,000 (Depends on Experience)
