POSITION TITLE Manager, Clinical & Market Development (Retina)
POSITION SUMMARY
In this position, you will lead the early clinical and market development activities for a single-use vitreoretinal surgical instrument entering the U.S. market. The role focuses on building the market from the ground up by collaborating closely with key opinion leaders, developing credible clinical value propositions with limited data, and supporting distributor partners during the initial launch phase.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and build relationships with key opinion leaders in the vitreoretinal field
Support early clinical evaluations, wet labs, and hands-on product use
Translate limited bench and preclinical data into compelling clinical narratives
Define clear and winning use cases within the vitreoretinal segment
Support small meetings and workshops at major ophthalmology congresses
Assist with U.S. distributor selection, onboarding, and sales training
Act as the primary clinical and product contact for early-stage distributors
Provide structured market and surgeon feedback to internal global teams
QUALIFICATIONS
5–8+ years of experience in the ophthalmic medical device industry, with a focus on vitreoretinal products
Hands-on experience with single-use surgical instruments
Direct experience working with vitreoretinal surgeons in clinical or market development roles
Understanding of distributor-based business models in the U.S.
Ability to work independently in environments with limited data and brand awareness
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience launching new products or entering new markets
Experience conducting wet labs or surgical training programs
Experience spanning both clinical and commercial functions
WORK ARRANGEMENT Fully Remote (U.S.-based)
Note: Travel is required for conference attendance, KOL visits, and distributor support.
SALARY USD120,000-150,000 (Depending on experience)
