POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, a growing Japanese organization based in New York City, is seeking a Finance Manager to lead accounting and financial operations.
This position will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounting close processes, audit coordination, and business analysis. The role works closely with senior leadership and overseas stakeholders to support business growth and operational excellence. Japanese-English Bilingual fluency is highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare financial reports, management reporting packages, and variance analyses.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general accounting functions.
- Review and maintain general ledger activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Coordinate internal and external audit requirements.
- Prepare reporting packages for overseas headquarters and consolidation purposes.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across finance functions.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
- Prepare presentations and materials for senior leadership.
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
- Lead or participate in finance-related projects and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Around 8+ years of accounting and finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- CPA certification.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or other major ERP systems.
- Prior people management experience.
