POSITION TITLE Credit Officer (Vice President)
POSITION SUMMARY
In this position, you will be responsible for credit risk analysis for large corporate clients, primarily U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese companies, working closely with front office teams and senior credit management to support sound credit decisions and an efficient approval process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and challenge credit applications, early-read memoranda, and related agreements
Analyze obligor credit risk, financial performance, projections, transaction background and structure, and regulatory considerations
Prepare written executive summaries and recommendations for senior credit management
Manage credit approval processes in accordance with internal policies and approval authorities
Continuously monitor portfolio quality and report material risk events such as downgrades or defaults
Support front office teams with due diligence and transaction structuring
Collaborate with stakeholders to improve the quality and efficiency of credit submissions
Provide guidance and support to junior credit professionals
Perform additional credit-related projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate credit or credit risk analysis
Strong knowledge of corporate finance and credit risk principles
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced qualifications preferred
Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, written, and interpersonal skills
Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese
