POSITION SUMMARY
In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing credit risk models, ensuring strong model governance, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain and enhance model performance, transparency, and reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct regular monitoring and performance analysis of credit risk models
Maintain model inventory and ensure proper documentation standards
Collaborate with the model validation team on issue remediation and model attestation processes
Develop credit risk rating models in collaboration with global stakeholders, including head office and external vendors
Lead model-related projects and report progress to senior management
Monitor model usage, assess appropriateness, and propose enhancements
Strengthen model governance and related management processes
Propose improvements to data management processes
Prepare materials and deliver presentations to senior management and regulatory authorities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in model risk management (model development and/or validation)
Practical experience or strong expertise in credit risk models
Academic background or knowledge in statistics, mathematics, financial engineering, computer science, or a related field
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, and Excel (VBA)
Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Experience with credit rating models
Advanced degree (Master’s) or professional certifications (CFA, FRM)
Experience as a model owner, including development and documentation
Experience presenting to regulators or senior management
Japanese language proficiency
